When can I buy one?

What does it cost?

Does it need a subscription?
Full pricing and plan details come with launch. What we can say now: the system is built with local, onboard capability at its core: it isn’t a dumb terminal for a cloud service.
What boats does it suit?
Any boat with 9–32 V power. NMEA 2000 unlocks full boat data; without it, direct sensors and GPS still cover security, anchor watch and power.
Does it work without mobile coverage?
Yes, two ways. Aboard: on the boat’s own network your phone talks straight to the device: no internet needed, and nearly everything works. Ashore off-grid: LoRa radio reaches kilometre-class range for alerts without any cellular. Remote-from-anywhere needs a data connection. We don’t do satellite today, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
Is this an EPIRB or distress beacon?
No. Roaming Shield is monitoring and security. It does not replace an EPIRB, PLB, or any certified safety-of-life equipment.
Can I install it myself?
It’s designed for a capable owner to install; professional installation options are planned.
